Raven House 4-star self catering holiday cottage stands close to a burbling waterfall on Raven Beck in the picturesque red sandstone village of Kirkoswald. The village nestles in the heart of the beautiful Eden Valley, the best kept secret in Cumbria.

Enhanced by traditional furniture and a new kitchen, this 19th century two bedroom cottage is full of original features and is equipped to a high standard. It is warmed in winter by modern central heating and an open fire in the original cast iron range.

The River Eden, one of England's best salmon rivers, flows through beautiful English countryside between the fells of the Eastern Lake District and the Northern Pennines. The valley has its own micro-climate and is drier than the local hillsides. Less well known to tourists than the nearby Lake District, the Eden Valley is never busy with traffic, even at peak holiday times.

The quiet village of Kirkoswald has a Post Office/general store and two pubs, both of which serve food. About a mile away, Lazonby has an open air swimming pool and a supermarket. Beautiful walking and cycling country is literally on the doorstep.

Raven House is perfect for a walking or cycling holiday, a relaxing short break, or a romantic week away. An ideal location for a peaceful holiday in a real Cumbrian village.
